GEEMaP Trainee Drakes Receives Stanley Graduate Travel Award

In March 2017, GEEMaP Trainee Oronde Drakes was awarded a Stanley Graduate Travel Award through the International Programs office of The University of Iowa. This award will allow him to travel to Guyana, South America to work with the national hazard management agency in a pilot of his research. Oronde will be embedded with a field team conducting participatory rural assessments of hazard exposure and vulnerability based on his research design. The award will allow him to test and refine data collection methods.
